Buying a place in Downtown Seattle can be very exciting and nerve racking at the same time. You spend all this time looking for the perfect place with the perfect view but how do you know if the view will be protected? Easy answer, it's not.
Whether you live in Belltown, Capitol Hill, Queen Anne, or Pioneer Square you don't have to go to far without seeing a construction crane building the next and best building. There are well over 20 cranes in Seattle right now with Amazon building two commercial towers and Insignia building two residential towers both going up around 40 stories. Just those two projects will be blocking a lot of peoples views.
When purchasing a condo with a view you can find current Downtown Seattle height restriction by using this map.

It won't protect your view and restriction do change but at least you will have a good idea of what the future of Seattle might have in store.

Seattle Market Update Oct 2014
Seattle Market Update
Seattle was just voted #3 for the top sellers market. Prices dropped 1.8% from last month but
were up 4.7% from last year. Zillow
predicts prices to go up 3.1% next year.
The number of new homes on the market is down a whopping 13% from last
month and Seattle currently has a 2.2 month supply of homes on the market. There is not as many cash buyer or investors
that could lead to a slight slowdown of the market.

Bad Listing Photos
I just love posting these photos. Photos get potential buyers through the door. Just blows me away that these actually get posted for buyers eyes.
Laundry down in a musty basement. 1 , 2, 3, not it. |
I see an outline of a computer. Could be an office. |
Intriguing.. Must see what's inside. |
Hmmmm |
Tune up your man cave. |
Way to far of a walk to move the garbage cans. |
Why? |
Plenty of storage to house your junk show. |
Is that Goop Off? Where they going to actually clean it? |
And here folks, is a room. |
Buyers run don't walk, newer 30 year old roof. |
Couldn't wait to start the fire. |
At least they stopped to take a photo. |

Seattle Housing Update
Seattle house prices just set a new record going over where
they were at the height of the market back in 2007. Homes in the city were up a whopping 16.9%
since last year according to NWMLS. Main reason for such an increase is the
shortage of homes on the market. Seattle
has an inventory of only a little over a month while a stable market would have
around 5 months.
This leads me to wonder.
Is there a new bubble building?

Seattle Area Real Estate Photos - What Were They Thinking
Photos Can make or break the sale of a property. The first impression most home buyers get of a home are through photos on the internet. Lets look at a few photos that have missed the mark.
Doesn't look to inviting. |
Doesn't everyone blow dry their hair on the toilet? |
Hmmm, how about we just eat out. |
Nice Fireplace. |
That's just disgusting. |
Oh, I love that show. |
Awesome Closet |
Can't tell if that's a can of oil or a pony key on the table. |
Why would even post this? |
